"Dr. Fester made it out and has this report:::::
romania is a country of freedom for outsiders. but for a lot of the kids growin up in the poverty of romania dealt by historic and current world organization, it is a country of seriously limited opportunity and seemingly near-impossible escape. you can go drink 30cent beers all day, marvel at the intrinsic beauty of the country that is open to outsiders while most insiders feel and often are trapped by its national and bureaucratic boundaries. all the kids seem to dream of leaving romania. the free roadshow romania is bringing a temporal glimmer of hope and smiles to the struggling kids in romania. by making parties and performances, making games and creating workshops on everything from doubledutch to dance performance and composing elektronik misikk. the roadshow became a little magnet and once someone ran into us we had em till we left the area,,, and leaving an area was the hardest part. we had everyone from local organizers and the sweetest old women to gluesniffin 6 year old street kids smiling. (though the cops didnt crack smiles despite their occasional willingness to let us be) i guess the message is that more tours with the goal of bring hope and a little (free) fun to places that havent seen too much of it need ot happen. the only anecdote to love is war and fun and games is a great place to start, especially when communication barriers exist and the landscape of politics is at such a different level. i think we were able to pass on creaive energy and affirm the hopes of kids that they have the power to shape their future in romania.. the tour continues through middle august,,,,"
